WCMConsult was founded in 2008 by Marcel Wiedenbrugge. Over the years, the focus has shifted from credit management and credit management software consultancy to business process improvement, developing and conducting trainings, writing books and articles and doing market research on financial software solutions. The mission is to develop concepts and ideas that help B2B organizations to structure and enhance collaboration between finance and commerce and improve profitability.
Marcel Wiedenbrugge has an educational background in international marketing (BBA Commercial Economics, international marketing) and practical experience of more than 25 years in sales / account management (B2B, wholesale, retail), credit management, service management and credit management software (OnGuard).
As with many people in this profession, I incidentally got involved in credit management when I started to work for Yamaha Musical Instruments Europe. My previous experience in sales proved to be a great asset, since credit management is not only about making sure that your customers are able and willing to pay you but also and more importantly about maintaining and growing good relationships with your customers (not debtors).
Later on I started to focus more on CRM (Customer Relationship Management) as well, leading to two books and new ways of thinking about effective cross functional collaboration between different departments.
